Shanghai Fengxian becomes R&D and intelligent manufacturing base for biopharmaceuticals, promoting biopharma industry development in Yangtze River Delta and nationwide

In Shanghai's new high-quality development blueprint, Fengxian District has obvious locational advantages. Fengxian District Party Secretary Li Zheng said Fengxian District has fully implemented the requirements of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, made all-out efforts to build the "Oriental Beauty Valley" brand, vigorously developed the beauty, health and biopharmaceutical industries, gathered over 200 biopharmaceutical enterprises, introduced a number of national-level functional platforms, and strived to become an important carrier for Shanghai to build a world-class biopharmaceutical industry cluster.

The Shanghai Biopharmaceutical R&D and Intelligent Manufacturing (CDMO) Base now settling in Fengxian will include in its first phase a 200,000L biopharma CDMO platform, healthcare base and other business segments, serving biopharma companies in the Yangtze River Delta region and the general public pursuing high-quality health management. It will also set up an industrial fund with the local government, leverage the CDMO platform to create incubators and accelerators, empower innovative drug companies, help form local industrial clusters, and promote high-quality development of the biopharmaceutical industry.
